Isobutyl acetate
Isobutyl acetate is a clear, colorless C-4 carboxylate ester with a pleasant, fruity aroma. Isobutyl acetate is a biodegradable solvent which with solvency attributes that are comparable to conventional organic solvents and is an effective replacement for toxic solvents such as MIK, MEK, xylene, toluene, etc. Today, isobutyl acetate finds application as a specialty solvent in nitrocellulose-based lacquers, extraction solvent, ink solvent, adhesives solvent, dyes solvent, enamels, cleaners, printing inks, cleaners, thinners, caulks, fats, waxes, camphor, gums, resins, nail polish removers, and cellulose esters. It is also used in perfumes.
