Disodium suberate is a sodium salt of suberic acid (octanedioic acid), a dicarboxylic acid, often present as a biomarker (or signaling molecule) in the urine of patients with fatty acid oxidation disorders. Structurally, the suberate moiety is saturated, aliphatic, C8 dicarboxylate. As a medium chain dicarboxylate salt, disodium suberate is used as a high-temperature-resistant lubricant additive, candle ingredient, resin stabilizer, corrosion inhibitor, cross linker, metalorganic framework ligand, nylon ingredient, plasticizer precursor, anionic surfactant, wetting agent, component in metalworking fluids, coatings ingredient, etc.
