Aluminum phosphate, CAS 7784-30-7
Aluminum phosphate (AlPO4) is a crystalline phosphate of aluminum. The naturally occurring form of aluminum phosphate is known as berlinite. Structurally, aluminum phosphate has framework structures with large pores like zeolites and is used as an ion exchanger or in molecular sieves. Aluminum phosphate has the characteristics of high melting point, high thermal stability, good fire resistance, and good wear resistance, which is widely used in fireproof coating, paper industry, textile industry, antifouling agent, flux, etc. Exemplary uses include high-temperature dehydrating agent, flux for ceramics, cement in combination with calcium sulfate and sodium silicate, critical additive in the manufacture of specialty glasses, adsorbent, catalyst in organic synthesis, binder in ceramics fabrication, curing agent in the production of high temperature refractory materials for kilns.
